The Logo @ KELTY KIRK

A WORD ABOUT THE KELTY KIRK LOGO

The logo is prominent at the front and side of our church buildings, on the lapels of most members, and on the material we produce in print. It was adopted at the beginning of 2000 because as we entered a new millennium we wanted to be visibly present as "A Church for All Seasons". The colours surrounding the black "K" (for Kelty) each represent a season of the Christian year, except for the black "K" and border which represents the coal that our ex-mining community is rooted in.

Purple is a royal colour and marks the Majesty of God that is over us. It is used during the seasons of Advent and Lent.

Red marks the fire of the Holy Spirit who is behind to empower us in being God's people. It is visible during the season of Pentecost.

Green stands for the eternal, 'evergreen', Love of God and is in use when there is no specific season to be celebrated.

White represents God's standards of purity and holiness that remain ever before us. Weddings, Communion and Baptism are occasions when it is more evident.
